Dignity Across Borders: Gaps and Recommendations Regarding Migrants and Their Families in an Age of Mobility 1

This publication provides a gaps analysis regarding migrants and their families in today’s societies and presents 35 concrete recommendations for addressing the identified gaps.

It is based on a consultation on migration with ICMC members throughout Asia, held in Manila in August 2008 and organized by ICMC, in cooperation with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines. The 40 participants represented ICMC members from 18 countries in the region and included 15 archbishops and bishops.

The publication was prepared to contribute to the debate at the Global Forum on Migration and Development, which united more than 160 governments and some 200 Civil Society representatives in Manila at the end of October.
