Global Forum on Migration and Development
The Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) is an informal, State-led process in which representatives of governments, civil society organizations, businesses and local authorities discuss and seek solutions to the most pressing migration issues. Since 2011, ICMC coordinates the civil society participation in the process, including at the Forum’s annual Summit. The GFMD has been paramount in the creation and adoption of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
Action Committee Meeting
Civil Society Action Committee
The Committee was created to coordinate advocacy efforts of civil society organizations at the 2016 UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants. Co-convened by ICMC, it played a leading advocacy role before UN Member States as they developed and adopted the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration. Since then, it has consolidated itself as a global platform for civil society coordination and engagement for global policy and governance of migration.
