‘Peace Be With All of You!’
On behalf of the ICMC family, Secretary General Davide Bernocchi gives thanks for the election of Pope Leo XIV

‘We give thanks to God for the election of Pope Leo XIV as the 267th Bishop of Rome and head of the Catholic Church. Personally, I was struck by the fact that his first message to the world began with ‘Peace’:
“Peace be with all of you! (…) This is the peace of the Risen Christ, an unarmed peace and a disarming peace, humble and persevering. It comes from God, God who loves us all unconditionally.”
His missionary journey and his very first words demonstrate a strong commitment to peace, dialogue, and unity, and to closeness to those who suffer and are marginalized, including our brothers and sisters on the move.
In communion with and following the spiritual guidance of Pope Leo XIV, the International Catholic Migration Commission family will continue our mission of service to uprooted people.
As he requested during his first apostolic blessing, let us pray for the Holy Father and his mission, through the intercession of Our Lady, Comfort of Migrants.’
Mr. Davide Bernocchi, ICMC Secretary General
