Papua New Guinea: Shelter & Humanitarian Assistance
Since 2023, ICMC has worked in partnership with our national member, the Catholic Bishops Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands, to support programs assisting West Papuan refugees in Papua New Guinea (PNG)

West Papuan refugees have been living in PNG since the mid-1980s, when the Indonesian military first started campaigns against West Papuan independence movements. Today, more than 12,000 displaced West Papuans are living as refugees in PNG, often in poverty, in informal settlements, and with limited access to income generation opportunities and assistance.
