World Refugee Day 2024 – For a World Where Refugees Are Welcomed
Observed every year on 20 June, World Refugee Day honors the contributions and resilience of people who have been forced out of their homes. Created in 2001 by the United Nations, the event recognizes the strength and courage of refugees and gives us a chance to reflect on their rights, needs, and dreams.
This year’s World Refugee Day theme is “Solidarity with Refugees.” For the occasion, the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) is highlighting its work and that of its members, focusing on advocacy and civil society coordination, as well as highlighting how you can get involved to support refugees, and help build a world where refugees are welcomed.
