Statement of Civil Society on the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration in Advance of the Sixth and Final Round of Negotiations
Presented to UN Member States and the GCM Co-Facilitators (the governments of Switzerland and Mexico) in an informal dialogue in New York on 10 July 2018 by the Civil Society Action Committee. The statement urges States to pay special attention to issues such as non-refoulement, criminalization of migrants, and those who assist them and detention of migrant children. Nearly 180 organizations endorsed the statement.
