All around the world, the ICMC staff works to help vulnerable people on the move.
We regularly recruit passionate and skilled professionals of all faiths, nationalities and ethnic origins to work in our Geneva headquarters, field offices, and affiliated structures in Brussels and the USA, or as part of the ICMC-UNHCR Resettlement Deployment Scheme. In addition, we occasionally seek qualified consultants and interns.
If you share ICMC’s commitment to rebuild the lives of refugees and migrants with hope and dignity, join our team.
Managed in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) since 1998, the Resettlement Deployment Scheme consists of a pool of skilled resettlement specialists who play a key role in identifying the most vulnerable refugees and assessing their protection needs. These ICMC experts work in the UNHCR field offices worldwide and are ready to be deployed on short notice whenever crucial operational support is needed.
The majority of these experts are engaged in casework, whereby they interview refugees, collect information on their cases and families, and assess whether individuals are eligible for resettlement, based on pre-determined criteria. In addition, experts with specialized skills conduct Best Interests Determination assessments (BIDs) for children, and Refugee Status Determination (RSD) interviews.
For more information about current vacancies and conditions for joining the Scheme, visit the ICMC-UNHCR Resettlement Deployment Scheme page. A list of deployment countries, as well as photos of ICMC's experts in the field, can be found in the Programs section: Deploying resettlement experts worldwide.
