Walter Brill joined ICMC as Director of Operations in December 2008, with extensive experience working with refugees, migrants and other vulnerable populations. Brill began his career with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in 1991, where he held positions in the field, as well as at the UNHCR Headquarters. In 2002, he joined the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), where he headed the Secretariat responsible for the processing of compensation appeals from victims of Nazi slave and forced labour. During his time with IOM, Brill directed and completed a 11,2 million euro humanitarian assistance programme for 14,000 elderly Roma in South-Eastern Europe. As Director of Operations, Brill provides direction and over sees the development of ICMC projects and programmes worldwide, in close cooperation with ICMC Members and partners on international, regional and national levels. |
