Assist survivors of violence and trauma

The psychological and social impacts of emergencies and other migration-related stresses including gender-based violence (GBV) can undermine long-term mental health and psychological well-being. ICMC is committed to preventing GBV and strengthening the support services available to survivors of violence and trauma, and their families.

ICMC provides direct assistance to survivors, pairing psychosocial counselling services with mobile medical clinics, vocational training and sustainable livelihood activities.  These services allow survivors and their families to experience both physical and psychological rehabilitation and healing.

Additionally, ICMC provides technical training and capactity building expertise  to local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in areas relecant to improved support for survivors, including effective awareness raising and advocacy, violence and trauma prevention, provision of psychosocial services and the building of referral networks.

Combating gender-based violence (GBV) among urban refugees in Malaysia
