In countries and communities around the world, there is a continuing urgency to secure protection and long-term solutions for people who have been forced to flee their homes and are both unable to return, and equally unable to integrate locally in their first country of asylum.

Commonly known as 'deployees' ICMC resettlement experts play a key role in providing needed welcomed support for vulnerable refugees and giving them hope for a new beginning by assessing their eligibility for resettlement.

Working directly with refugees in UNHCR field operations globally since 1998, ICMC deployees make a positive impact on the lives of refugees through their work to determine refugee status, address the specific needs and vulnerabilities of refugee women, assess the best interests of children who have been separated from their parents and provide psychological support and counseling to those who have experienced traumatic events.
