OAU (Organization of African Unity) - Convention Governing the Specific Aspects of Refugee Problems in Africasearch for term

The regional complement to the 1951 Convention whose refugee definition is broader than that provided in the 1951 Convention. Adopted in 1969, the OAU Convention provides that "the term 'refugee' applies to those fleeing from external aggression, occupation, foreign domination or events seriously disturbing public order in either part or whole of the country of origin".
