World food security: joint statement of 270 faith-based organisations
  
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

On the occasion of the FAO High-Level Conference titled: "World Food Security: the Challenges of Climate Change and Bioenergy" held in Rome from the 3rd - 5th of June, 270 faith-based organizations are publishing a joint statement. They address key issues relating to the conference: human rights, climate change, transgenics, right to food, empowerment of communities and women, biofuels, transport, sustainable agriculture and rural development, education, and policies: coherence and implementation, civil society participation.

Food crisis strongly affect the poorest people and particularly also the migrants. ICMC joins the other organizations urging the Conference to define long-term solutions to those problems.
